Help! We Need a New Name.

Well, all good things must come to and end. We have to close down The Front Porch! What? you say. Yes, it's true, we were so proud of our Blog that we failed to notice that the idea and name of Front Porch, and variations abound out there--in the blogosphere, the internet etc. So for the sake of our pride, and to avoid offending some already-using-the-name-front-porch webmaster, we are looking for a new name. One that continues to capture the spirit of the front porch, but lets us have our own name. It's time to move out of grandma's basement, and get a house with a porch of its own.

That's where you come in. Please help us by submitting suggestions for our new name. We're small, so the only prize we can offer is to feature you, or a topic you suggest, in our first post under the new name! Wow! Can't beat that!

I like "Neighboor Front Porch", "On the Front Porch", "Around the Front Porch" or just "The Front Porch"

Who else uses this name? On a blog?? Hmmm...
I'm thinking you could do something like "Neighbor to Neighbor" I'll keep thinking though.

Here's a few suggestions:
(with or without the bracketed sections)

- [Re]building the [American] Front Porch (or RePainting...)
- American Forum
- The [American] Front Porch Swing
- Chillin' on the Front Porch
- American Town Hall [Meeting]
- Or you could just use the intials from your last names, Anderson, Steinmetz and Schmonsees...maybe not...

I like the American Town Hall Meeting suggestion or what about something that illustrates the image of what I think of when I hear of front porches...rocking chairs and lemonade in the evening...hey its just what I envision.

What about "Welcome Home"? That captures the spirit of The Front Porch without even going near the name in any way. Or, you could think of "Howdy, Neighbor!" if you're feeling more "country" about it! (OK, I'm originally from Texas, and invoke the greeting "Howdy" quite a bit, much to my daughters' chagrin!) BTW, Aunt Julie needs help planning the rehearsal dinner for her son's wedding, and needs your help. Plus, she's giving away a complete set of Pop'rs in the bargain, starting today-the best way to encourage your family to Eat Their Veggies! Please drop in sometime and check it out!

If you're speaking about the Schmonsees' front porch it could be: "Avoid the dying tomato plant while restraining the extremely hyper german shepherd". But I suppose we're going for the ideal, right?
Front Porch Follies?
I actually like the previous comment about rebuilding the front porch. Not that you want to evoke the mental image of termites having eaten it up...
